Great durability, tricky install
The ceramic holds up incredibly well against wear. Installation required a bit more torque than I expected to seat it properly in the V2 block, but once installed, it works flawlessly.

Long lasting investment
I go through brass nozzles and throats quickly with glass-filled PLA. This ceramic tube has lasted three times longer than any metal alternative I've tried so far. Excellent quality.

Solved my heat creep issues
Running high temps for PEEK blends was causing heat creep with my brass throat. This ceramic version dissipates heat differently and has completely eliminated the issue. Worth every penny.

Solid performance for composites
Very smooth internal surface helps with filament flow. I deducted one star only because it is slightly more brittle than metal, so be careful not to overtighten during assembly.

Perfect for abrasive filaments
I switched to this ceramic throat specifically for printing carbon fiber nylon, and the difference is night and day. No more clogging or wear after just a few spools. Highly recommended for anyone pushing abrasive materials.

Best upgrade for Mellow V2
If you own the Mellow V2 hotend and print anything abrasive, this is a mandatory upgrade. The precision fit is perfect, and the print quality on carbon fiber parts has improved noticeably.
Q: What is the maximum continuous operating temperature?
A: The ceramic material can withstand temperatures up to 500°C continuously, making it suitable for high-temperature engineering polymers.
Q: How do I clean the inside if it gets partially clogged?
A: We recommend heating the hotend to the filament's printing temperature and pushing cleaning filament through. Avoid using metal picks as they may scratch the ceramic surface.
Q: Does this come with a new nozzle or just the throat tube?
A: This package includes only the ceramic throat tube. Nozzles are sold separately to allow you to choose the specific diameter and material you prefer.
Q: Can I use this with standard PLA filament?
A: Yes, you can use standard PLA, though the primary benefit of ceramic is its resistance to abrasive materials like carbon fiber or glass fiber.
