Essential upgrade for V6 hotends
If you are running a V6 style hotend and plan to print anything other than basic PLA, get this nozzle. The heat transfer is efficient, and the hardened tip prevents clogging from debris. Installation was straightforward with the included wrench.

Bulk buy for our lab

Consistent layer adhesion
The internal bore finish is incredibly smooth, which results in consistent extrusion and better layer adhesion. I've been using it for engineering-grade PETG at higher temps, and there is no sign of wear or oozing issues.

Good value, works as advertised
Does exactly what it says on the tin. It's not cheap compared to a pack of brass nozzles, but considering the lifespan when printing glow-in-the-dark or wood-fill filaments, it saves money in the long run. Deducting one star only because shipping took a bit longer than expected.

Perfect for Carbon Fiber Filament
I switched to this bimetallic nozzle specifically for printing with carbon fiber filled PLA. My standard brass nozzles would wear out in a single spool, but this one has lasted through five spools with zero degradation in print quality. Highly recommended for abrasive materials.

Great durability, slightly tighter tolerance
The build quality is excellent and it handles high temperatures very well. I noticed the flow rate was slightly different than my old brass nozzle, so I had to recalibrate my extrusion multiplier. Once dialed in, the prints are flawless.
Q: What is the difference between this and a full hardened steel nozzle?
A: This is a bimetallic nozzle, meaning it has a hardened steel tip for wear resistance but a copper alloy body for superior thermal conductivity. Full hardened steel nozzles conduct heat less efficiently, which can lead to heat creep issues in some hotends. This design offers the best of both worlds.
Q: How often should I replace this nozzle compared to brass?
A: With non-abrasive filaments like pure PLA or PETG, this nozzle can last indefinitely, similar to brass. However, with abrasive filaments (carbon fiber, glow-in-the-dark, metal fill), a brass nozzle might last 100-200 grams, whereas this bimetallic nozzle can easily last several kilograms before needing replacement.
Q: Does this come in a 0.6mm size?
A: This specific listing is for the 0.4mm diameter nozzle. We do carry 0.6mm and other sizes in separate listings under the same Mellow Bimetallic series. Please check our store front for alternative diameters.
Q: Is this nozzle compatible with the Creality Ender 3 stock hotend?
A: The Ender 3 stock hotend uses an M6 thread similar to the V6, but the geometry can vary slightly. This nozzle is designed specifically for E3D V6 and Volcano clones. It will likely fit if your Ender 3 has been upgraded to a V6-style hotend, but may require modification for the absolute stock setup.
Q: Can I use this with PLA at standard printing temperatures?
A: Yes, absolutely. While this nozzle is designed for high-temperature and abrasive filaments, it works perfectly fine with standard PLA at typical temperatures (190°C - 220°C). You do not need to print at high temperatures to use this nozzle.
