Perfect upgrade for my V6 setup
This kit made swapping my old heater block incredibly easy. The aluminum block is machined precisely, and the ceramic heater reaches temperature much faster than my previous cartridge heater. Highly recommended for anyone looking to improve heat consistency.

Good quality, instructions could be better
The parts themselves are excellent quality and fit my printer perfectly. The only reason for 4 stars is that the included diagram was a bit vague. I had to watch a YouTube tutorial to ensure I installed the thermistor correctly. Once installed, it works flawlessly.

Essential for high-temp materials
Needed a reliable hotend for printing ABS and Nylon. This kit provides consistent heat distribution which has significantly reduced warping issues. The silicone sock included is a nice touch for safety and insulation.

Solid construction
The aluminum block feels very durable and the threading is clean. Installation took about 20 minutes. It runs slightly hotter than expected at 24V, so make sure to tune your PID settings after installation.

Fast heating and stable temps
I switched to this ceramic heater system to print with higher flow rates, and it handles the Volcano nozzle without breaking a sweat. Temperature stability is impressive, resulting in smoother layers on my prints.
Q: Can I use this with PLA filament?
A: Yes, absolutely. While this heater is capable of reaching high temperatures for engineering filaments, it works perfectly fine with PLA. Just ensure you set your slicing software to the appropriate temperature range for PLA (usually 190-220°C).
Q: What is the difference between the V6 and Volcano versions?
A: The main difference is the length of the heat break and the heating zone. The Volcano version allows for a longer melt zone, enabling higher flow rates for faster printing, while the V6 is standard for detailed prints.
Q: Does this come with the thermistor wire pre-installed?
A: The thermistor is included in the package, but it usually requires you to insert and secure it into the block yourself using the provided grub screw. Please refer to the assembly guide for details.
Q: Is the silicone sock heat resistant enough for 300 degrees?
A: Yes, the included silicone sock is rated for continuous use up to 300°C and provides excellent thermal insulation and protection against accidental burns or short circuits.
Q: Is this compatible with the Creality Ender 3 stock hotend?
A: This kit is designed for E3D V6 and Volcano style hotends. The stock Ender 3 uses a different mount, so you would need a V6 adapter mount to use this kit on an Ender 3.
