Durable and reliable
Been using E3D components for years and this nozzle is no exception to their quality. The threading is precise, and it seats perfectly in the Volcano heater block without any leaks. Worth every penny for the longevity.

Perfect for abrasive filaments
I switched to this hardened steel nozzle specifically for printing carbon fiber reinforced PLA. It has held up perfectly after several spools with no signs of wear or widening of the orifice. Highly recommended for anyone moving beyond standard PLA.

Great flow, needs higher temps
The high-flow design is excellent for speeding up prints on large vases. Just remember that hardened steel conducts heat differently than brass, so you may need to increase your printing temperature by about 5-10 degrees to get optimal layer adhesion.

Solved my clogging issues
I was constantly clogging with metallic fillers using a brass nozzle. Since installing this hardened steel version, I haven't had a single clog. The internal surface seems much smoother and more resistant to material buildup.

Solid upgrade for production
We use these in our small farm of printers for prototyping parts in glass-filled nylon. They last significantly longer than brass nozzles. Only giving 4 stars because they take a bit longer to heat up due to the material density.
Q: Does this come with a wrench for installation?
A: This item is sold as a standalone nozzle and does not include a wrench. We recommend using a proper nozzle wrench or socket to avoid damaging the hexagonal shape during installation or removal.
Q: Can I use this with PETG filament?
A: Yes, absolutely. While hardened steel is ideal for abrasive materials, it works perfectly fine with standard filaments like PETG, PLA, and ABS. You might just find it lasts indefinitely compared to brass nozzles.
Q: What is the maximum safe operating temperature for this nozzle?
A: The hardened steel nozzle can safely operate up to 450°C. However, please ensure your specific heater block and thermistor are also rated for these higher temperatures if you plan to print engineering-grade materials.
Q: Is this nozzle compatible with the E3D V6 hotend?
A: No, this nozzle is specifically designed for the E3D Volcano heater block. The V6 uses a different thread length and geometry. Please ensure you have a Volcano setup before purchasing.
Q: How do I know which bore size I selected?
A: The bore size is laser-etched on the side of the nozzle near the hex base. If you ordered a variety pack, each nozzle will be clearly marked with its diameter (e.g., 0.4, 0.6, 0.8).
