RFID feature is a game changer
I love that I don't have to manually input settings. The printer recognized the spool immediately and adjusted the flow rate for the silk material automatically. Perfect prints every time.

Great look, slightly brittle
Visually, this is the best filament I've used. The silk texture hides layer lines perfectly. Just be careful when handling the printed parts as PLA silk can be a bit more brittle than standard PLA.

Stunning color transitions
The gradient on this silk filament is absolutely gorgeous. The RFID tag made setup instant on my X1C, and the finish looks like polished metal without any post-processing.

Professional aesthetic

Beautiful but needs dry storage
The colors are vibrant and the silk finish is smooth. Make sure to keep it sealed when not in use, as silk filaments tend to absorb moisture faster than matte ones.

Worth every penny
Initially hesitant about the price, but the quality and the convenience of the smart chip justify the cost. The gradient transition is seamless and looks amazing on vases and figurines.
Q: Does the color gradient repeat throughout the entire spool?
A: Yes, the multi-color gradient pattern repeats consistently throughout the 1kg spool, ensuring uniform aesthetics for larger prints or multiple small items.
Q: Can I print functional mechanical parts with this?
A: While possible, silk PLA is primarily designed for aesthetic models and decorative items. For functional mechanical parts requiring high strength and durability, we recommend our standard PLA-CF or PETG filaments.
Q: How should I store this filament to maintain quality?
A: Always reseal the bag with the desiccant after use or store the spool in an airtight container with humidity control. Silk finishes are sensitive to moisture which can affect surface gloss.
Q: What bed surface do you recommend for silk PLA?
A: We recommend using the PEI textured sheet or the Cool Plate with glue stick for optimal adhesion. Silk filaments can sometimes stick too well to smooth surfaces if the bed is too hot.
Q: Is this filament compatible with non-Bambu Lab printers?
A: Yes, you can use this filament on any 1.75mm FDM printer. However, the RFID auto-recognition feature will only work with Bambu Lab printers equipped with an RFID reader.
