Replaces ABS for many use cases
I used to switch to ABS for anything needing toughness, but the warping was a nightmare. This Tough+ PLA gives me similar impact resistance without the warping issues or the need for an enclosure.

Great durability, slightly higher temp needed
Excellent material strength. I found I had to bump the nozzle temperature up to 225°C to get the best flow, but once dialed in, the prints are rock solid. Worth the extra cost for functional parts.

RFID feature is so convenient
Love that the printer automatically loads the correct profile. No more guessing temperatures or speeds. The filament itself is very consistent in diameter, leading to smooth extrusion.

Perfect for mechanical prototypes
The layer adhesion is incredible. I printed a set of gears and hinges that have been running for weeks without any signs of wear or cracking. The matte finish also hides layer lines very well.

Finally a PLA that doesn't snap!
I've been struggling with standard PLA breaking on functional parts like drone arms and phone mounts. This Tough+ filament is a game changer. It has just enough flex to absorb impact without shattering. The RFID tag made setup on my X1 Carbon instant.

Good for props and armor
Made some helmet pieces that survived a convention drop test without a scratch. It sands nicely too. Only giving 4 stars because it's a bit pricier than generic PLA, but the quality justifies it.
Q: Is this filament food safe?
A: While the base PLA material is generally derived from corn starch, we do not certify this specific spool as food safe. 3D printed parts often have microscopic gaps where bacteria can grow, so we recommend against using them for direct food contact regardless of the filament type.
Q: Do I need a heated enclosure to print this?
A: No, a heated enclosure is not required. One of the main advantages of this material over ABS or Nylon is that it prints reliably on an open bed or with just a passive enclosure, minimizing warping risks.
Q: How does the bend resistance compare to standard PLA?
A: PLA Tough+ is engineered to be significantly more flexible and impact-resistant than standard PLA. While standard PLA is brittle and snaps under stress, Tough+ can bend and deform slightly before breaking, making it ideal for functional mechanical parts.
Q: What is the shelf life of the spool once opened?
A: Like most PLA blends, it is hygroscopic and can absorb moisture from the air. If stored in a sealed bag with desiccant or an airtight container, it can last indefinitely. If left exposed to humid air, we recommend drying it before use after a few weeks.
Q: Does this filament work with non-Bambu Lab printers?
A: Yes, you can use this filament on any 1.75mm FDM printer. However, the RFID auto-recognition feature will only function with compatible Bambu Lab printers. You will need to manually input the temperature and speed settings for other brands.
