Kids love it!
Bought this to teach my kids about IoT and AI. The conversational robot kit aspect makes learning fun. They were able to program simple responses within an hour. Highly recommended for educational purposes.

Great hardware, documentation could be better
The hardware itself is solid. The screen is bright and the Wi-Fi connection is stable. I deducted one star because the English documentation for advanced customization is a bit sparse, but the community forums helped me figure it out.

Good starter kit
As a beginner, I found the pre-loaded firmware very helpful to understand how voice assistants work. The build quality feels premium. Only wish it came with a case in the standard package.

Perfect for AI Voice Projects
This board is incredibly easy to set up for voice interaction projects. The integration with the XiaoZhi AI platform works flawlessly out of the box. Sound quality from the speaker is surprisingly clear for such a small device.

Excellent value for ESP32-C3
For the price, you get a lot of features. The 16MB flash and 8MB PSRAM are generous specs. The voice dialogue box functionality is responsive, and latency is minimal when connected to a good network.
Q: What is the maximum volume of the built-in speaker?
A: The built-in 1W speaker provides clear audio suitable for personal use or small rooms. For louder environments, you can utilize the I2S output pins to connect an external amplifier.
Q: Does this board support custom wake words?
A: Yes, the XiaoZhi AI platform allows you to configure custom wake words through the web dashboard or by modifying the configuration files in the firmware.
Q: Is the source code for the AI agent open source?
A: The underlying firmware based on ESP-IDF is open source. However, some specific cloud-side AI processing modules of the XiaoZhi service may require an API key or subscription depending on usage volume.
