Excellent upgrade from older ESP32 boards
The dual-core processor and extra RAM make this a beast compared to the original ESP32. Touch response is accurate, and the Type-C port is a welcome addition.

Vibrant colors and fast rendering
I used this for a wearable prototype. The 262K colors look fantastic, and the ESP32-S3 handles the graphics library without lagging. Highly recommended for visual projects.

Great learning tool
As someone new to embedded systems, this board was easy to get started with. Plenty of example code available. Only wish it came with a protective case.

Reliable for control panels
We deployed ten of these for small machine status displays. They have been running 24/7 without issues. The Bluetooth connectivity allows for easy mobile diagnostics.

Good value, minor documentation gaps
Hardware is solid and the PSRAM makes a huge difference for graphics. The wiki could be more detailed on specific pin mappings for I2C, but community forums filled the gaps quickly.
Q: What is the maximum brightness level of the LCD?
A: The display features adjustable backlight brightness via PWM, allowing you to tune it from off to maximum brightness depending on your ambient lighting conditions.
Q: Is the touch screen capacitive or resistive?
A: This model utilizes a capacitive touch panel, which supports multi-touch gestures and offers a more responsive user experience compared to resistive screens.
Q: Does the package include a USB cable?
A: Yes, the standard package includes a short USB Type-C to Type-A data cable for programming and power supply.
Q: Does this board support MicroPython out of the box?
A: Yes, the ESP32-S3 is fully compatible with MicroPython. You will need to flash the firmware yourself, but many pre-built binaries are available online.
Q: Can I power this board with a 3.7V LiPo battery directly?
A: While the board has a battery charging circuit, it is recommended to connect the LiPo battery to the designated battery header pins rather than the main 5V input to ensure proper charging management.
