Solid performance, needs better English docs
The chip itself is powerful and energy-efficient. My only complaint is that some of the advanced API documentation is primarily in Chinese, requiring translation tools. Otherwise, a great development kit.

Good hardware, steep learning curve
If you are new to RISC-V, expect a learning curve. The toolchain setup took me a few hours. However, once running, the board is very responsive. Just be prepared to dig into forums for support.

Great value, minor setup quirks
Hardware quality is solid for the price. Had a small issue configuring the initial driver on Windows 10, but once installed, it works perfectly. The Bluetooth LE range is surprisingly good for such a small form factor.

Perfect for university labs
Bought this for my embedded systems course. It's much cheaper than other alternatives and performs just as well for basic sensor data logging and cloud transmission tasks. Highly recommended for students.

Works great for smart home sensors
I used this to build a custom temperature and humidity monitor. The low power consumption mode works as advertised, and the board fits easily into small 3D printed enclosures. Very satisfied.

Excellent RISC-V board for IoT projects
This W806 board is fantastic for getting started with domestic Chinese MCU chips. The Wi-Fi connection is stable, and the documentation provided by the community is quite helpful. Compilation was smooth using the official SDK.
Q: Is this board compatible with the Arduino IDE?
A: The W806 primarily uses its own proprietary SDK based on GCC. While there are community efforts to bring Arduino core support, it is not officially plug-and-play with the standard Arduino IDE out of the box.
Q: What is the maximum current output for the GPIO pins?
A: Each GPIO pin can typically source or sink up to 12mA. Please ensure you do not exceed the total current limits for the chip when driving multiple peripherals simultaneously.
Q: Is there a JTAG interface available for debugging?
A: Yes, the board exposes JTAG pins on the header. You will need an external JTAG debugger compatible with the W806 architecture to perform step-by-step debugging.
