Great value, minor soldering needed
The core functionality is solid and the chip is genuine. Note that some headers might need to be soldered on depending on your specific kit version. Once set up, compilation and flashing are smooth.

Excellent documentation support online
While the board itself is minimal, there is a huge community supporting this specific chip. I found tutorials easily to get the GPIOs and timers running within an hour of unboxing.

Ideal for university labs

Good power efficiency
Running a motor control algorithm on this board shows very good power management capabilities. The only downside is the lack of an onboard debugger, so you need a separate ST-Link.

Perfect for learning ARM Cortex-M4

Reliable for industrial prototyping
We used several of these for initial prototyping of a control system. The stability at 168MHz is impressive, and the peripheral access is straightforward. No issues after weeks of continuous testing.
