Excellent board for learning FPGA basics
This Seeed Studio board is perfect for students. The documentation is clear, and the Unisoc toolchain installed without issues on Windows. Great value for the price.

Good hardware, steep learning curve
The board itself is high quality with robust connectors. However, if you are used to Xilinx or Altera, the Unisoc software takes some getting used to. Still recommended for hobbyists.

Decent but limited community support
Hardware is solid, but finding example projects online is harder compared to more popular FPGA brands. You need to be comfortable reading datasheets.

Perfect for industrial prototyping

Solid performance for the cost
For under $50, you get a capable FPGA dev board. The USB-C power delivery is convenient. Would give 5 stars if the example code library was larger.

Great addition to my electronics lab

A: Yes, the Unisoc FPGA Designer toolchain supports both Verilog and VHDL for development on the PGL22G chip.
Q: Can I drive a standard HDMI display with this board?
A: The PGL22G has limited resources for full HDMI implementation. It is better suited for LVDS displays or lower-resolution VGA projects. For complex video output, a higher-end model is recommended.
Q: Is a JTAG programmer included in the box?
A: No, the board features an onboard USB-to-JTAG converter, so no external programmer is required. You can program it directly via the USB-C port.
