Perfect for learning 8051 architecture
This board is exactly what I needed to get back into embedded systems. The USB download feature works flawlessly with the STC-ISP software, no external programmer needed. Great value for the price.

Good bulk purchase for our workshop
We bought ten of these for our weekend workshop. Nine worked immediately, one had a slightly loose USB port but still functional. Overall good consistency for the price point.

Fast 8051 core
The STC8H series is significantly faster than traditional 8051s. This board exposes all the necessary pins for expansion. Shipping was quick and packaging was secure.

Plug and play simplicity
I was worried about driver issues on Windows 11, but the drivers installed automatically. Compiled and flashed my first blink program in under 10 minutes. Excellent starter board.

Solid hardware, documentation could be better
The board itself is high quality and the chip runs fast. However, the pinout diagram on the product page was a bit small. Once I found the full datasheet online, everything worked perfectly.

Great for university projects
Bought this for my microcontroller course. It's very stable and the built-in USB makes submitting code for labs incredibly fast. Highly recommend for students.
Q: Can I power this board with a 9V battery?
A: No, please do not connect 9V directly. The board operates at 3.3V or 5V. Connecting higher voltage may damage the MCU. Use the USB port or a regulated 5V source on the VIN pin.
Q: What software is used to burn the code?
A: You can use the official STC-ISP software provided by STC Micro. It is free to download from their website and supports Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Q: Are the GPIO pins 5V tolerant?
A: Yes, most I/O ports on the STC8H8K64U are 5V tolerant, making it easy to interface with older 5V sensors and modules while running the core at 3.3V or 5V.
