Fun IoT capabilities
Using the radio feature to communicate between two micro:bits was my first project. It worked flawlessly out of the box. The only reason for 4 stars is the LED matrix resolution is low, but that's expected.

Perfect for classroom coding lessons
We bought a set of these for our middle school computer science club. The v2.2 upgrade with the built-in microphone is a game changer for sound-based projects. Setup was incredibly easy using the online editor.

Solid board, wish batteries were included
The board itself is fantastic and very durable. My only minor complaint is that the battery pack isn't included in this specific kit, so you need to buy it separately if you want portable projects.

Easy transition from Blocks to Python
I started with the block-based editor and moving to Python text coding was seamless. The documentation is excellent, and there are thousands of tutorials available online for inspiration.

Industry standard for education
We use these across all our workshops. The Bluetooth connectivity allows for wireless data logging which is perfect for science experiments. Robust construction handles drops well.

Great upgrade from v1.5
The faster processor and larger memory make a noticeable difference when running complex Python scripts. The speaker quality is surprisingly good for such a small board. Highly recommended for hobbyists.

A: While MakeCode is primarily web-based, you can install the Microsoft MakeCode app for Windows, macOS, and ChromeOS to program the device offline.
