Clean Design and Layout
The PCB layout is very logical. Having dedicated sections for motors, servos, and sensors prevents the messy jumper wire setups I used to deal with. The USB-C power passthrough is also a nice modern touch.

Sturdy and Reliable
We have used ten of these boards for our after-school club for three months. They have survived several drops and tangled wires. The power distribution is stable even when running four servos simultaneously.

Excellent Python Support
I was worried about library compatibility, but the standard Mu Editor recognized the board immediately. Writing code to control the motors and read sensors via the expansion ports was seamless. Highly recommended for STEM projects.

Good starter kit component
As someone new to hardware, this board simplified the wiring process significantly. The only reason for 4 stars is that the included manual could have more example circuits. Otherwise, it's a fantastic tool for learning.

Perfect for Classroom Robotics
This expansion board makes it incredibly easy to turn a simple micro:bit into a functioning robot. The pin labels are clear, and the motor drivers work smoothly with Python scripts. My students built line-following robots in just one afternoon.

Great value, minor soldering needed
The board works exactly as described. I had to solder the header pins myself which wasn't a problem, but beginners might find that tricky. Once assembled, the connection to the micro:bit V2 was solid and the servo control is precise.
Q: Is the Python library pre-installed?
A: No software needs to be installed on the board itself. You write your Python code on your computer using editors like Mu or Thonny and flash it to the micro:bit, which then controls the expansion board.
Q: What type of battery pack should I use?
A: You can use a standard 3xAA battery pack with a JST connector or power it directly via the USB-C port. Ensure the voltage does not exceed 6V if using an external battery source to protect the components.
Q: Can I power high-torque motors with this board?
A: The onboard motor drivers support standard DC hobby motors up to 1A per channel. For high-torque motors requiring more current, we recommend using an external motor driver module connected via the GPIO pins.
Q: Does this board work with the original micro:bit V1?
A: This expansion board is specifically designed for the micro:bit V2.0 and V2.2 due to differences in the edge connector pinout and voltage requirements. It is not compatible with the V1 model.
Q: Are the servo ports 3.3V or 5V?
A: The servo ports provide 5V power from the external battery input or USB, which is suitable for most standard hobby servos. The signal line operates at 3.3V logic level, compatible with the micro:bit V2.
