Perfect Upgrade from K210
If you are coming from the K210, this is a massive leap in performance. The additional RAM allows for much more complex models. The build quality feels premium too.

Solid Board for Prototyping
Used this for a smart camera prototype. The image processing capabilities are top-notch. Only wish it had onboard Wi-Fi instead of just a header, but that's a minor complaint.

Excellent for Computer Vision Projects
The K230 board is incredibly fast for its price point. The CanMV IDE makes it very easy to get started with object detection and face recognition without deep C++ knowledge. Highly recommended for students.

Great Hardware, Documentation Needs Work
The dual-core performance is impressive and the AI inference speed is solid. However, some of the peripheral pinout documentation was a bit sparse. Once I figured it out, it worked perfectly.
Q: Does this board support TensorFlow Lite models directly?
A: The K230 primarily uses the CanMV framework which supports models converted to its specific format (often from ONNX). Direct TensorFlow Lite execution may require conversion steps using the provided tools.
Q: Can I power this board with a standard phone charger?
A: Yes, any standard 5V USB-C charger providing at least 1A of current will work perfectly. We recommend 2A if you are driving high-power peripherals or cameras.
Q: What is the maximum resolution supported for video input?
A: The MIPI CSI interface supports cameras up to 8MP. For real-time AI processing, resolutions like 640x480 or 800x600 are recommended to maintain high frame rates.
Q: Is there a JTAG interface available for debugging?
A: Yes, the board exposes JTAG pins on the header. You will need an external debugger probe compatible with RISC-V architecture to utilize this feature.
Q: Does the package include a camera module?
A: No, this package includes only the K230 development board. Camera modules and displays are sold separately to allow you to choose the specifications that fit your project.
