Good starter board
Works well for learning AT commands and getting familiar with Quectel modules. The documentation could be slightly better, but online resources fill the gaps.

Reliable for industrial testing
We used several of these for initial testing of a remote monitoring system. They handled continuous operation without overheating. Very satisfied with the performance.

Solid hardware, drivers needed attention
The physical board is well-made and the SIM slot is secure. Had to spend some time finding the right drivers for Windows 10, but once installed, connectivity was stable.

Plug and play success
Inserted the SIM, connected the antenna, plugged into USB, and it was recognized immediately on my Raspberry Pi. No soldering required which saved me a lot of time.
Q: Is this compatible with the Quectel EC20-E variant?
A: Yes, this adapter board is designed to be compatible with various regional variants of the EC20 and EC25 series, including the EC20-E, provided the pinout matches the standard Mini PCIe layout.
Q: Does this board come with antennas included?
A: No, this development board does not include antennas. You will need to purchase 4G/LTE antennas with IPEX (U.FL) connectors separately.
Q: What operating systems are supported for the USB drivers?
A: The module relies on drivers provided by Quectel. It is generally supported on Windows 7/8/10/11, most modern Linux distributions (often kernel-built), and Android systems.
Q: Can I use a Nano SIM card directly in the slot?
A: The board features a slot designed for a Standard SIM or Micro SIM depending on the specific revision. If you have a Nano SIM, you will likely need a passive adapter frame to fit it securely into the slot.
Q: Does this board provide GPS functionality?
A: This board provides the interface for the 4G module. If your specific Quectel EC20 or EC25 module has built-in GNSS/GPS capabilities, this board will pass that functionality through via the USB interface.
