Perfect for automation
Works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. I set up a simple pump system and it triggers exactly when the soil gets dry.

Needed tweaking
Had to adjust code significantly for accuracy. Readings varied a lot until I stabilized the power supply.

Good value
Great sensor for the price but the probes corrode over time if left in soil permanently. Consider coating them.

Easy to calibrate
The potentiometer on the board makes threshold adjustment simple. No complex coding needed for basic use.
Q: Is the code included?
A: We provide a link to sample code in the manual included in the package.
Q: Does this work with 3.3V logic?
A: Yes it operates between 3.3V and 5V so it is safe for most microcontrollers.
Q: Is the cable extendable?
A: Yes you can solder wires to extend the length between the probe and the module.
Q: How deep should I insert the probe?
A: We recommend inserting at least 40mm to get an accurate reading of root moisture.
Q: Can I connect this directly to a relay?
A: No you need a microcontroller to process signal before triggering a relay module.
