Perfect balance for sumi-e

Q: Can these brushes be used with acrylic paints?
A: While primarily designed for traditional ink and watercolor, they can be used with fluid acrylics. However, please clean them immediately after use to prevent the acrylic from hardening on the natural hairs.
Q: Is the wooden box suitable for long-term storage?
A: Yes, the wooden box is designed for storage. We recommend ensuring the brushes are completely dry before placing them inside to prevent mold growth on the natural fibers.
Q: Are replacement heads available if the bristles wear out?
A: Currently, we do not sell replacement heads separately. However, with proper care and cleaning, these high-quality natural hair brushes can last for many years.
Q: Do these brushes come pre-seasoned or do I need to prepare them before first use?
A: The brushes come with a protective starch coating on the tips. You should soak the tip in lukewarm water for a few minutes and gently swirl it to remove the starch before your first use.
Q: What is the length of the longest brush handle?
A: The longest brush in the set has a total length of approximately 26 centimeters (about 10.2 inches), providing good leverage for broad strokes.
