Perfect for delicate running script

The texture of this paper is incredible. The wax-dye finish gives it a unique sheen without making the ink slide off. My running script looks much more elegant on these sheets compared to standard rice paper.

Nice but pricey

The quality is undeniable, and the aesthetic is lovely. However, for the number of sheets you get, it feels a bit expensive compared to bulk plain Xuan paper. Good for special projects though.

Beautiful colors, slightly thin

The 'Clear Breeze' color pattern is subtle and very artistic. It adds a nice background to my characters. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the paper is a bit thinner than I expected, so you have to be careful with wet ink.

Excellent ink control

As someone who practices small regular script daily, finding paper that doesn't bleed is crucial. This Xuan paper handles black ink beautifully, keeping the strokes sharp and defined.

Q: Is this paper suitable for watercolor painting as well as calligraphy?

A: While primarily designed for calligraphy, the Xuan paper can handle light watercolor washes. However, due to the wax-dye treatment, heavy water application might behave differently than on raw Xuan paper. We recommend testing a single sheet first.

Q: What type of ink works best with these sheets?

A: Traditional stick ink or high-quality liquid sumi ink works best. The paper is optimized for black ink, which contrasts beautifully with the 'Clear Breeze' colored background.

Q: Are the sheets pre-cut or do I need to trim them?

A: The sheets come pre-cut in the small format specified in the attributes. They are ready to use immediately upon opening the package.

Q: Does the wax coating prevent the ink from drying properly?

A: No, the wax-dye process is superficial and decorative. It does not seal the paper completely, so the ink absorbs and dries normally, maintaining the traditional feel of Xuan paper.
