Great value, minor setup needed
Overall a fantastic viola for the price. The craftsmanship on the wood is excellent. I did have to adjust the bridge slightly and change the strings to get the sound I wanted, but that is normal for instruments in this range.

Solid construction
Very pleased with the build quality. The ebony fingerboard is smooth, and the varnish has a nice depth to it. It took a few days to break in the strings, but now it sounds wonderful.

Exceeded expectations
As an adult learner returning to music, I didn't want to spend a fortune. This Soyat MV68 has a rich, resonant sound that projects well in our community orchestra. The handmade quality is evident in the details.

Good look, average bow
The viola itself is lovely and plays nicely. However, the included bow is quite basic and feels lightweight. I would recommend budgeting for a better bow separately if you are serious about practice.

Beautiful sound for a beginner instrument
I bought this for my daughter who is just starting viola lessons. The tiger stripe finish is stunning in person, and the tone is much warmer than other student models we tried. It came well-packaged and ready to play out of the box.

Perfect starter viola
My son's teacher recommended this model, and we are so glad we listened. It holds its tune well and the case is sturdy enough for school transport. The tiger stripe pattern makes it look much more expensive than it is.

A: No, the package includes the viola, a hard case, a bow, and rosin. A shoulder rest is sold separately as preferences for comfort vary greatly among players.
Q: Is the case waterproof?
A: The included case is water-resistant and protects against rain and splashes, but it is not fully waterproof. We recommend using an additional cover if transporting in heavy storms.
Q: Can this be used for advanced repertoire?
A: While designed for beginners, the MV68 has a responsive tone that can handle intermediate repertoire. Advanced players may eventually outgrow its projection capabilities in large concert halls.
Q: How long is the warranty?
A: Soyat provides a one-year limited warranty covering manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. Normal wear and tear or damage from accidents are not covered.
