Solid performer

Does exactly what it says on the tin. The humidity reading stabilizes quickly after a shower test. Only minor issue is the screw terminals are a bit tight, but that ensures a good connection.

Accurate but requires configuration

The precision is excellent compared to my old Wi-Fi sensors. However, you need a terminal program to set the baud rate and address if they don't match your default network settings. Once configured, it works flawlessly.

Q: Is this sensor suitable for outdoor installation?

A: This specific model is designed for indoor use only. It does not have an IP65 or higher weatherproof rating. For outdoor applications, please look at our weatherproof series with protective housings.

Q: Can I connect multiple sensors to the same RS485 bus?

A: Yes, you can daisy-chain up to 247 devices on a single RS485 bus. Each unit must be assigned a unique Modbus slave address using the configuration software or dip switches if applicable.

Q: Does it support 3.3V logic levels directly?

A: No, the RS485 interface operates at standard industrial voltage levels. If you are connecting to a 3.3V microcontroller like an ESP32, you will need an RS485 transceiver module compatible with 3.3V logic.

Q: What is the default baud rate out of the box?

A: The factory default settings are typically 9600 bps, 8 data bits, no parity, and 1 stop bit (9600, 8, N, 1) with a slave address of 1. Please refer to the specific datasheet included in the package for confirmation.

Q: How do I calibrate the sensor if the reading drifts?
