Great for university projects
Bought a pack of five for our final year robotics project. All units worked out of the box. The digital output makes interfacing with Raspberry Pi GPIO pins extremely simple without needing extra components.

Solid performance for the price
Works as advertised. The detection range is accurate within the specified limits. I deducted one star only because the included headers were not pre-soldered, but that is standard for this type of module.

Reliable and durable

Perfect for my Arduino line follower
These sensors work flawlessly with my Arduino Uno project. The sensitivity adjustment via the potentiometer makes it easy to calibrate for different lighting conditions and track surfaces. Highly recommended for beginners.
Q: Does the package include connecting wires?
A: The package typically includes the PCB module and a set of male header pins for soldering. Connecting jumper wires are usually sold separately, depending on the specific seller bundle.
Q: Can this sensor detect black lines on a white surface?
A: Yes, this module is specifically designed for line tracking. It detects the contrast between reflective (white) and non-reflective (black) surfaces effectively when calibrated correctly.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity if it's triggering too often?
A: Locate the blue potentiometer on the board. Use a small screwdriver to turn it counter-clockwise to decrease sensitivity (requiring the object to be closer) or clockwise to increase it.
Q: What is the maximum effective distance for obstacle detection?
A: While the theoretical range extends up to 25mm, for reliable obstacle avoidance in robotics, we recommend setting the detection distance between 5mm and 15mm using the onboard potentiometer.
