Reliable for greenhouse monitoring
Been running three of these in my automated greenhouse for two months. They handle the high humidity conditions perfectly without drifting. The breakout board makes wiring very easy.

Solid performance, good value

Perfect upgrade from SHT30
Switched my weather station project from SHT30 to this SHT40 module. The accuracy is noticeably better, and the I2C communication is rock solid with my ESP32. Highly recommended for serious hobbyists.

Great sensor, minor pin labeling issue
The sensor performance is excellent and matches the datasheet specs. Only giving 4 stars because the silk screen on the VCC pin was slightly faint on my unit, but once identified, it works flawlessly.
Q: What is the difference between this and the SHT30?
A: The SHT40 offers improved long-term stability and slightly better accuracy in extreme temperatures compared to the SHT30. It also features a new heater function for condensation management.
Q: Is this module compatible with Arduino Uno?
A: Yes, the SHT40 module uses a standard I2C interface and operates at 3.3V or 5V, making it fully compatible with Arduino Uno. You just need to connect the SDA and SCL pins.
Q: Does this come with a library for Raspberry Pi?
A: We do not provide a proprietary library, but the SHT40 is supported by popular community libraries like Adafruit_CircuitPython_SHT4x and Sensirion's official GitHub repositories for Python.
Q: Can I use this outdoors without an enclosure?
A: While the sensor chip is robust, the breakout board itself is not waterproof. We strongly recommend using a breathable enclosure or IP65 housing to protect the electronics from direct rain and dust.
Q: What is the maximum cable length for the I2C connection?
A: For reliable I2C communication, keep the cable length under 30cm (12 inches). If you need longer distances, consider using an I2C extender or buffer chip to maintain signal integrity.
