Works well but needs calibration
Out of the box, it was a bit too sensitive for my taste, but after a quick turn of the screw, it works perfectly. Just remember to calibrate it for your specific environment.

Perfect for my weather station project
This module works exactly as described. The double-sided sensing area is a great feature that ensures reliable detection even with light drizzle. Integration with my Arduino was seamless.

Reliable and durable
I have had this sensor outside for three months now through various weather conditions. It hasn't failed once. The gold plating seems to prevent corrosion well.

Great value for money
Bought this for a university robotics project. It responded instantly during our outdoor tests. The digital output simplifies the coding process significantly.

Ideal for automotive prototypes
Using this to prototype an automatic windshield wiper system. The response time is fast enough to trigger the relay before the glass gets too wet. Highly recommended.

Good sensitivity, easy to tune
The potentiometer makes it very easy to adjust the threshold for what constitutes 'rain'. I use it to close my greenhouse windows automatically. Solid build quality.
Q: Can this module be used directly with a Raspberry Pi?
A: Yes, since the module operates on 3.3V to 5V, it is fully compatible with Raspberry Pi GPIO pins. Just ensure you connect the VCC to the 3.3V or 5V pin and the DO to a GPIO input.
Q: Is the sensor waterproof or just water-resistant?
A: The sensing plate is designed to get wet, but the electronic components on the back are not fully waterproof. We recommend mounting the module at an angle or providing a shield for the electronics while leaving the sensing area exposed.
Q: What is the maximum current the relay can handle?
A: Please note this specific model provides a digital signal output to drive a relay; it does not contain a high-power relay itself. The digital output can typically source/sink about 20mA, sufficient to trigger a standard transistor or external relay module.
Q: Does it detect humidity or only falling rain drops?
A: This module detects the conductivity of water bridging the traces on the board. It will trigger when rain drops hit the surface or if heavy condensation/humidity creates a conductive path. Sensitivity can be adjusted to ignore high humidity.
Q: Are the header pins included in the package?
A: Yes, the package includes a set of header pins that you can solder onto the module for easy connection to breadboards or jumper wires.
