Great value, minor calibration needed

Works well out of the box, though I noticed it needed about 5 minutes to warm up before readings stabilized. Once warmed up, the PM2.5 readings matched my commercial monitor very closely. The TVOC feature is a nice bonus.

Perfect for my home automation project

Solid performance for prototyping

Good build quality and stable voltage requirements. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the cable connector feels a bit fragile, so handle with care during assembly. Otherwise, the sensor performance is top-notch.

Excellent documentation and support

I was worried about the UART protocol, but the provided documentation made integration seamless. The laser detection seems very sensitive to dust; even waving my hand near it causes a spike. Great sensitivity for the price point.

A: Under normal operating conditions, the laser scattering unit is designed to last for approximately 20,000 hours of continuous use.

Q: Can this sensor detect cigarette smoke effectively?

A: Yes, the laser scattering principle is highly effective at detecting fine particulate matter found in cigarette smoke, typically showing immediate spikes in PM2.5 readings.

Q: Is the output data compatible with Raspberry Pi?

A: Absolutely. Since the module uses a standard UART/TTL interface, you can easily connect it to the GPIO pins of a Raspberry Pi using a simple Python script.

Q: Does this module require an external library for Arduino?

A: While you can write your own parser for the UART data, we provide a sample library on our GitHub repository that simplifies reading PM2.5, temperature, and humidity values directly.
