Perfect for my garden lighting project
This module works exactly as described. I connected it to a 12V LED strip for my garden path, and the automatic on/off feature based on ambient light is very reliable. The potentiometer makes it easy to set the trigger threshold.

Simple and effective

Reliable relay action
I've tested this with a 5V supply and a small fan. The relay clicks clearly and switches the load instantly when the light changes. No flickering issues even during twilight conditions.

Works well after figuring out the pins
The module functions great once you identify the VCC, GND, and Output pins correctly. The silk screen is slightly faint, so double-check your wiring before powering on. Otherwise, a solid product.

Great for solar setups
Using this to automatically switch on my backup lights when the solar panel output drops in the evening. The hysteresis seems good enough to prevent rapid cycling. Highly recommended for off-grid projects.

Good value, easy to integrate
Great little sensor for the price. It integrates well with my Arduino projects. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the screw terminals are a bit small for thick wires, but it works fine with standard jumper wires.
Q: Does this come with a casing or is it just the bare board?
A: This item is sold as a bare PCB module without an enclosure. You will need to mount it in your own project box or housing suitable for your specific environment.
Q: Can I power this with a 9V battery?
A: Yes, the module supports a wide DC input range including 5V and 12V. A 9V battery will work perfectly fine to power the logic and the relay coil.
Q: What is the difference between the DO and AO pins if present?
A: This specific model features a Digital Output (DO) which acts as a switch (High/Low) based on the threshold. Some similar modules have an Analog Output (AO), but this unit is designed specifically for simple On/Off relay control.
Q: How do I adjust the sensitivity of the light detection?
A: There is a blue potentiometer on the PCB. Use a small screwdriver to turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity (trigger in brighter conditions) or counter-clockwise to decrease it (trigger only in darker conditions).
Q: Can this module handle 220V AC loads directly?
A: The module itself operates on DC 5V or 12V. While the relay can switch higher voltages, please ensure the relay rating (usually 10A) is not exceeded and exercise extreme caution when dealing with mains voltage. We recommend using an enclosed box for high-voltage applications.
