Perfect for my Arduino robot car
These sensors work flawlessly for line tracking. The sensitivity potentiometer makes it very easy to calibrate for different surface colors. Great value for the price.

Excellent sensitivity range
I was impressed by how adjustable the detection distance is. You can tune it to ignore background noise effectively. Highly recommended for DIY electronics.

Great for prototyping
Compact size fits perfectly on small PCBs. The LED indicators are bright enough to see status at a glance without being distracting.

Reliable obstacle avoidance
We used a batch of these for a university project. They are consistent in their readings and handle ambient light changes reasonably well after adjustment.

Good quality, fast shipping
The module is well-built and the soldering points are clear. It detected the black line immediately. Only giving 4 stars because the documentation could be more detailed for beginners.

Works as described
Simple to interface with Raspberry Pi GPIO pins. The digital output is clean. Just make sure you provide a stable 5V supply for best results.
Q: Does this come with jumper wires?
A: This listing is for the sensor module only. Jumper wires are not included but can be purchased separately in our accessories section.
Q: What is the maximum current consumption of this module?
A: The typical current consumption is around 10mA to 20mA when the LED emitter is active, depending on the specific operating voltage and ambient conditions.
Q: How do I adjust the detection distance?
A: There is a blue potentiometer on the board. Use a small screwdriver to turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity (longer distance) or counter-clockwise to decrease it.
Q: Is this compatible with 3.3V logic systems like ESP32?
A: Yes, the module operates on a wide voltage range of 3.3V to 5V, making it fully compatible with both 5V Arduino boards and 3.3V ESP32 or Raspberry Pi systems.
Q: Can this sensor detect transparent objects like glass?
A: Infrared reflection sensors like the TCRT5000 generally struggle with transparent objects because the IR light passes through rather than reflecting back. It is best suited for opaque surfaces.
