Perfect for my robot car project
This sensor works exactly as described. The analog output is very stable within the 10-80cm range. I used it for obstacle avoidance on my DIY robot, and the response time is quick enough to prevent collisions.

Good value, needs calibration

Great for university projects

Solid performance
Works well for short-to-medium range detection. Note that objects smaller than the beam width might not be detected consistently at the far end of the 80cm range, but that is expected physics, not a defect.
Q: Is the output digital or analog?
A: The GP2Y0A21YK0F provides an analog voltage output that varies inversely with the distance to the object. You will need an ADC pin on your microcontroller to read it.
Q: Can I use two of these side-by-side without interference?
A: Placing them directly side-by-side may cause optical interference. It is best to separate them by a few centimeters or stagger their operation timing in your code.
Q: Does this module come with the connecting cable?
A: Yes, this module typically includes a short 3-pin JST PH connector cable compatible with standard breadboard adapters.
Q: Can this sensor detect black objects effectively?
