Good but needs stable power
The sensor works well when powered by a dedicated 5V supply. I initially tried powering it from a weak USB hub and experienced disconnects. Upgrading the power source solved all issues.

Saves energy in the conference room
We installed these in our small meeting rooms. Unlike cameras, this respects privacy while ensuring lights and AC turn off immediately when the last person leaves. No false triggers from ceiling fans either.

Great hardware, steep learning curve
The radar module itself works flawlessly and the range adjustment is precise. However, integrating it with custom firmware required some debugging. Once set up, it has been rock solid for months.

Perfect for Home Automation
This sensor is incredibly sensitive. It detects my presence even when I am sitting still reading a book, which my old PIR sensors missed completely. The Bluetooth configuration app is intuitive and makes setting detection zones very easy.

Heartbeat detection is a game changer
I was skeptical about the heartbeat feature, but it actually helps distinguish between a person sleeping and an empty room much better than standard motion sensors. Highly recommended for bedroom lighting automation.

Easy setup with Home Assistant
Followed the online guide and had this running in Home Assistant within 20 minutes. The ability to define multiple detection gates allows me to ignore movement near the window while catching entry at the door.
Q: Is the Bluetooth connection secure for home use?
A: Yes, the module uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) with standard pairing protocols. Once configured, you can disable Bluetooth broadcasting if you are using the UART interface for integration with microcontrollers, adding an extra layer of security.
Q: Can this sensor detect people through a thin wooden door?
A: The LD2410B uses 24GHz radar which can penetrate non-metallic materials like drywall or thin wood to some extent, but performance varies significantly based on material density and thickness. It is primarily designed for line-of-sight or open-room installation for optimal accuracy.
Q: What is the maximum distance for reliable detection?
A: The maximum configurable detection range is up to 6 meters. For best results with micro-motion and heartbeat detection, we recommend setting the range slightly beyond your actual room depth to reduce noise.
Q: Does this work with Alexa or Google Home directly?
A: The sensor does not connect directly to Alexa or Google Home. It acts as a data source that must be connected to a hub or microcontroller (like ESP32 or Raspberry Pi) running software like Home Assistant, which then exposes the data to voice assistants.
Q: Can I update the firmware on this module?
A: Yes, firmware updates can be performed via the UART interface using the official Hi-Link flashing tool. Please ensure you download the correct firmware version from our official resource page to avoid bricking the device.
