Reliable and Compact
Bought this for a university robotics project. It's compact, easy to wire, and the documentation online is plentiful. The L/H trigger jumper is a nice feature for different use cases.

Fast shipping, works as described
Arrived quickly and packaged well. Tested immediately upon arrival; the LED indicator makes debugging very easy. The detection angle covers my entire doorway perfectly.

Good sensitivity, needs calibration
The module detects motion well, but it took some time to dial in the delay and blockade times to prevent false triggers from my ceiling fan. Once calibrated, it works great for my hallway light project.

Great for beginners
We use these in our workshop for introductory IoT classes. They are robust enough to handle beginner wiring mistakes and provide consistent results. Only wish the mounting holes were slightly larger.

Excellent build quality
The PCB looks clean and the soldering points are solid. I've been running this off a 9V battery for weeks without issues. Highly recommended for security alarm prototypes.

Perfect for Arduino Projects
This sensor works flawlessly with my Arduino Uno. The sensitivity adjustment pots are very responsive, and the detection range is impressive for such a small module. Great value for money.

A: Yes, you can find the detailed datasheet and pinout diagram in the 'Documentation' section of the product page or by searching 'HC-SR501 datasheet' online.
Q: What is the difference between L and H trigger modes?
A: In 'L' mode (repeatable), the output stays high as long as motion is detected. In 'H' mode (non-repeatable), the output goes high once motion is detected and stays high for the set delay time regardless of continued motion.
Q: Can this module be powered directly by a 5V USB power bank?
A: Yes, the HC-SR501 operates within a DC 4.5V to 20V range, so a standard 5V USB power source is perfectly suitable.
Q: Does this sensor work through glass or plastic covers?
A: PIR sensors generally cannot detect infrared radiation through thick glass. Thin plastic or specialized Fresnel lens covers designed for PIR are recommended for housing the sensor.
Q: How do I adjust the detection distance?
A: There is a potentiometer labeled 'Distance' on the board. Turn it clockwise to increase sensitivity and range, or counter-clockwise to decrease it.
