Solid component
Works well with both 3.3V and 5V logic levels. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the included pins were not pre-soldered, but that's standard for these modules. Easy to fix.

Perfect for Arduino fire alarm projects
This sensor works exactly as described. I connected it to my Arduino Uno and the sensitivity adjustment pot made it easy to calibrate for my specific room lighting conditions. It detects a lighter flame instantly from about 80cm away.

Bought 10 for student kits
We purchased these for our high school robotics competition. All 10 units worked flawlessly. The students found them easy to wire up using the standard 3-pin servo connectors. Great educational tool.

Good value, needs calibration
The module is compact and well-built. Out of the box, it was a bit too sensitive to sunlight, but after turning the potentiometer slightly, it works great indoors. Just remember this detects IR radiation, not smoke.

Fast shipping and great performance
Arrived quickly and was packaged securely. Tested it immediately against a matchstick flame and the LED indicator lit up instantly. The range is impressive for such a small sensor.

Reliable detection
Integrated this into a smart home prototype. The digital output is clean and doesn't bounce. It's very responsive to candle flames and gas stove ignition. Highly recommend for DIY safety systems.
Q: Is this compatible with Raspberry Pi?
A: Yes, it is compatible. Since the module operates at 3.3V to 5V, you can connect the VCC to the 3.3V pin on the Raspberry Pi and the DO (Digital Output) to a GPIO pin. Ensure you configure the GPIO as an input in your code.
Q: Can this sensor detect smoke?
A: No, this is an infrared flame sensor designed to detect the light spectrum emitted by flames (760nm-1100nm). It cannot detect smoke particles; you would need a dedicated smoke sensor for that.
Q: Will direct sunlight trigger false alarms?
A: Strong direct sunlight contains infrared radiation and can potentially trigger the sensor. We recommend adjusting the sensitivity potentiometer counter-clockwise to reduce sensitivity or shielding the sensor from direct window light during installation.
Q: What is the difference between the 3-wire and 4-wire versions?
A: The 3-wire version typically includes VCC, GND, and Digital Output (DO). The 4-wire version adds an Analog Output (AO), allowing you to read varying intensity levels of the flame rather than just a simple on/off signal.
Q: Does this module come with jumper wires?
A: The package usually includes the PCB module and a set of header pins for soldering. Jumper wires are generally not included unless specified in the specific bundle option you selected at checkout.
