Better than the DHT11
Upgraded from the DHT11 and the difference in precision is noticeable immediately. The wider temperature range also makes it suitable for outdoor use with a simple enclosure.

Good accuracy for the price
I am using this to monitor my greenhouse environment. It handles the humidity well, though it takes a few seconds to update. For the cost, you really cannot beat the performance.

Perfect for Arduino Projects

Solid performer
Works as advertised. Just remember the sampling rate is 2 seconds, so don't expect instant updates if you are polling too fast. Otherwise, a great little sensor.
Q: Can I use this with a Raspberry Pi?
A: Absolutely. The DHT22 works well with Raspberry Pi GPIO pins. Just ensure you are using a 3.3V logic level, which matches the Pi's output, and install the appropriate Python library.
Q: How often should I calibrate this sensor?
A: The DHT22 is factory calibrated. Under normal operating conditions, it maintains accuracy for years. If used in extreme environments, comparing it against a reference device annually is good practice.
Q: Is this sensor waterproof?
A: The sensor probe itself has some resistance to humidity but is not fully waterproof. For outdoor or wet environments, please house it in a breathable protective enclosure.
