Easy to use with libraries
I was worried about the wiring, but the Adafruit library made it incredibly easy to get started. Within 10 minutes I had temperature and pressure displaying on my LCD screen. Highly recommended for beginners.

Great for ESP32 projects
Connected directly to an ESP32 via I2C. The power consumption is low, making it ideal for battery-powered IoT nodes. Only giving 4 stars because the soldering pads are quite small for hand-soldering wires.

Excellent educational tool
Bought five of these for my high school physics class to demonstrate atmospheric pressure changes with elevation. Students love seeing real-time data changes when we take the sensors up the elevator shaft.

Good sensor, needs calibration
Works well with my Raspberry Pi weather station project. Out of the box, the pressure reading was slightly off, but after applying the sea-level correction formula in Python, it matches my local meteorological data perfectly.

Perfect for DIY Altitude Hold
Integrated this module into my custom quadcopter flight controller. The I2C communication is stable, and the altitude readings are smooth enough for reliable altitude hold features. Great value for the price.
Q: What is the difference between the BMP280 and BME280 versions?
A: The BME280 measures temperature, pressure, and humidity. The BMP280 measures only temperature and pressure. Both share the same footprint and code compatibility for pressure/temp.
Q: Can I use SPI instead of I2C with this board?
A: Yes, the board supports both interfaces. You need to bridge specific solder pads on the back of the PCB to switch from the default I2C mode to SPI mode as per the datasheet.
Q: What is the refresh rate for pressure readings?
A: The refresh rate is configurable via software. It can range from ultra-low power mode (once every several seconds) to high-resolution forced mode (multiple readings per second).
Q: Does this come with header pins pre-soldered?
A: No, the module is shipped without header pins to keep the profile low. You will need to solder your own headers or wires depending on your project requirements.
Q: Is this module compatible with 5V Arduino boards?
A: Yes, the module includes a voltage regulator and level shifting, so it is safe to connect to 5V logic boards like the Arduino Uno, though it operates internally at 3.3V.
