Consistent C41 results every time
I have used three batches now on Kodak Gold and Fuji C200. The grain structure is preserved well, and the color saturation is accurate. Highly recommend for anyone moving away from mail-in services.

Solid starter kit for powder users
If you are new to mixing your own chemicals from powder, this is a forgiving kit. The stabilizer step really helps with archival quality. Took off one star because the measuring guide is only in metric.

Good product, packaging could be better
The chemistry works well, but one of the packets arrived slightly torn. Fortunately, none of the powder spilled, but better sealing would give more peace of mind during shipping.

Perfect for travel photographers
Since these are powders, they are incredibly lightweight and easy to pack for trips abroad. I developed rolls in a hotel bathroom sink with no issues. Colors matched my lab scans perfectly.

Great value, requires precise mixing
For the price, you cannot beat the yield. Just make sure you have a good scale and distilled water. My first batch had slight color shifts because I didn't mix the bleach thoroughly enough.
Q: Can this kit be used for E-6 slide film development?
A: No, this kit is formulated strictly for the C-41 color negative process. Using it for E-6 film will result in ruined images. Please look for our specific E-6 powder kit for slide films.
Q: Is the temperature control critical for this powder version?
A: Yes, temperature control is just as critical with powder mixes as with liquids. The C-41 process typically requires maintaining the developer at 37.8°C (100°F) ± 0.15°C for consistent color reproduction.
Q: How long does the mixed solution last before it expires?
A: Once mixed with water, the developer is best used within 2-3 weeks if stored in an airtight, full bottle away from light. The bleach and fixer generally last longer, up to a month, but we recommend testing with a sacrificial roll if storing for extended periods.
Q: Do I need any special equipment to mix these powders?
A: You will need a digital scale capable of measuring grams accurately, a set of graduated cylinders or beakers, and access to distilled water. Standard darkroom tanks and reels are required for the actual development process.
Q: Can I reuse the solution for multiple rolls?
A: Yes, you can reuse the mixed solutions. Typically, one liter of mixed developer can process about 4 to 6 rolls of 35mm film if you extend the development time slightly for each subsequent roll according to standard C-41 push charts.
