Good value for money
Does exactly what it says on the tin. Setup took about 20 minutes including driver installation. The pop-up notification is a nice touch. Only giving 4 stars because the user manual could be more detailed regarding advanced configuration.

Excellent audio clarity
I was worried about audio quality over USB, but the recordings are crisp and clear on both ends of the conversation. The four-channel capability allows us to monitor our entire support queue effectively. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Great hardware, decent software
The recording quality is crystal clear on all four channels. The hardware feels durable and connects easily via USB. The included software is functional for basic stats, though I wish the interface was a bit more modern. Overall, excellent value for the price.
Q: Is the SDK compatible with Python or only C++?
A: Our SDK primarily provides C++ libraries, but many customers have successfully created Python wrappers to interface with the device for secondary development projects.
Q: Can I use this with a VoIP system or only analog lines?
A: This device is designed for standard analog telephone lines (PSTN) using RJ11 connectors. For pure VoIP systems, you would typically need a gateway to convert the signal to analog before connecting to this box.
Q: Does this device require an external power adapter?
A: No, the Zipei 4-Line Recording Box is fully powered via the USB connection to your computer, so no external power adapter is needed.
Q: How long can I store recordings on a 1TB hard drive?
A: Storage duration depends on the format and compression. In MP3 format, a 1TB drive can typically store over 10,000 hours of 4-channel simultaneous recording. In uncompressed WAV, this will be significantly less.
Q: What happens if the computer goes to sleep?
A: If the host computer enters sleep mode, recording will pause. We recommend adjusting your power settings to prevent the computer from sleeping while the recording software is active.
