Perfect fit for X1-Carbon
Dropped right into my X1-Carbon without any calibration issues. The layer adhesion on abrasive PLA is excellent, and the flow rate remains consistent throughout long prints.

Great durability, slightly tricky install
The nozzle itself is fantastic and handles abrasive filaments with ease. Installation required a bit more torque than expected to seat it properly in the hotend, but once tightened, it works flawlessly.

Lasts much longer than steel
I go through hardened steel nozzles every few months when printing glass-filled nylon. This SiC nozzle has been running for six months straight with zero signs of wear. Highly recommended for industrial materials.

Essential for Carbon Fiber Printing
I switched from the standard hardened steel nozzle to this Silicon Carbide one for printing CF-PA12. The wear resistance is noticeably better, and I haven't seen any expansion in the nozzle diameter after 500 grams of print.

Good value for heavy users
If you print standard PLA, this is overkill. But if you are running carbon fiber or metal-filled filaments daily, the longevity justifies the cost. My only minor complaint is the lead time for shipping.

No more clogs!
Since installing this Phaetus nozzle, I have experienced zero clogs with my abrasive composite filaments. The smooth interior finish really helps with material flow at higher speeds.
Q: Can I use this nozzle for printing pure copper filament?
A: While Silicon Carbide is highly wear-resistant, pure copper filament requires very high temperatures and specific thermal conductivity. We recommend checking your hotend's maximum temperature limits before attempting such materials.
Q: Does this come with a new thermal paste or gasket?
A: The package includes the nozzle and an installation tool. It does not include new thermal paste or gaskets; we recommend reusing your existing ones if they are in good condition or purchasing them separately if needed.
Q: Do I need to recalibrate my flow rate after installation?
A: It is best practice to run a flow rate calibration and a pressure advance tuning after changing any nozzle to ensure optimal print quality, even if the dimensions are identical.
Q: What is the expected lifespan compared to hardened steel?
A: In continuous printing with highly abrasive materials like carbon fiber, Silicon Carbide nozzles typically last 5 to 10 times longer than standard hardened steel nozzles.
Q: Is this nozzle compatible with the Bambu Lab A1 mini?
A: No, this specific model is designed exclusively for the X1 and P1 series hotends. The A1 mini uses a different quick-swap nozzle system.
