5 FAQ
Q: Is this compatible with the standard Bambu Lab 0.4mm nozzles?
A: Yes, the Mellow A1 Heating Block uses the standard M6 thread and is fully compatible with all standard Bambu Lab hardened steel and stainless steel nozzles.
Q: Does this kit include the hotend fan or just the heating block assembly?
A: This kit includes the heating block, heater cartridge, thermistor, and silicone sock. It does not include the hotend cooling fan; you should reuse the fan from your original assembly.
Q: What tools are needed for installation?
A: You will need a hex key set (usually 2mm and 2.5mm), a small wrench for the nozzle, and potentially tweezers for handling the small wires. A multimeter is optional but helpful for verifying connections before powering on.
Q: Can I use this to print PLA at higher speeds?
A: While this block is designed for high-temperature materials like ABS/ASA, it also provides excellent thermal stability for PLA. You may see slight improvements in consistency at very high flow rates, but the stock block is generally sufficient for standard PLA printing.
Q: Do I need to update the printer firmware after installing this?
A: No firmware update is required. The thermistor and heater specifications match the original equipment, so the printer will recognize them automatically.
