Perfect upgrade for abrasive filaments
I switched to this hardened steel hotend specifically for printing carbon fiber nylon, and it has been flawless. The temperature stability is excellent even at 280°C, and the detachable design makes swapping nozzles incredibly fast.

Great performance, slightly tricky install
The print quality improved immediately after installation. It handles high temps without any issues. I deducted one star only because the instructions could be clearer on aligning the thermistor properly during the first setup.

Essential for serious printing
If you plan on printing anything other than basic PLA, get this upgrade. The ability to reach higher temperatures safely opens up so many new material options. Installation took me about 15 minutes.

Solid upgrade for X1C
Works exactly as advertised on my X1C. No clogs so far after 2kg of filament. The only minor issue is that the silicone sock fits a bit tighter than the original, but it stays in place well.

Robust and reliable
After burning through two brass nozzles with glass-filled PETG, this hardened steel version is a lifesaver. It's built like a tank and the heat break seems much more efficient than the stock component.
Q: Does the package include a new heater cartridge or just the hotend block?
A: The package includes the complete detachable hotend assembly with the heater cartridge and thermistor pre-installed, plus a silicone sock.
Q: Do I need to recalibrate my printer after installing this?
A: It is highly recommended to run a flow rate calibration and a vibration resonance calibration after installing any new hotend to ensure optimal print quality.
Q: Can I use this to print Polycarbonate (PC) filament?
A: Absolutely. This hardened steel hotend is rated for temperatures up to 300°C, making it ideal for Polycarbonate and other high-temperature engineering filaments.
