Perfect for Orchestral Work
I use the BD7 for my symphony work. It provides excellent projection without becoming shrill. The gold plated ligature holds the reed securely without dampening the vibration. Worth every penny.

Great but requires break-in
The craftsmanship is outstanding as expected from Vandoren. It took about a week of playing to fully break in the hard rubber, but now it plays beautifully. Just be patient during the first few sessions.

Solid upgrade
Upgraded from a beginner plastic mouthpiece. The intonation is much better across all registers. Only giving 4 stars because the price is a bit steep, but the quality justifies it.

My new favorite

Exceptional Tone Quality
I switched from a standard rubber mouthpiece to the BD5 and the difference is night and day. The tone is warmer, more focused, and the response in the upper register is incredibly smooth. Highly recommended for serious players.
