Good fit for most guitars
Fits my dreadnought perfectly. The clamps are secure but gentle on the wood. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the cable could be a bit longer for larger stages, but an extension solves that easily.

Perfect upgrade for my old acoustic
The installation was incredibly easy, taking less than 10 minutes. The 5-band EQ gives me much more control over my tone compared to my old 3-band system. The tuner is accurate and the display is bright enough to see on a dimly lit stage.

Clear and crisp tones
The clarity of the high end is impressive without being shrill. The bass response is tight and controlled. Setting up the EQ to match my room acoustics was very intuitive.

Studio quality live

Great sound, minor battery drain
The sound quality is fantastic and very natural. The 12-tone temperament tuning is spot on. I only deducted one star because the LED display seems to drain the battery slightly faster than expected if you forget to unplug the cable.

Excellent value for money
For the price, you cannot beat the features. The build quality feels solid, and the knobs have a nice resistance to them so they don't move accidentally. The tuner is a great bonus feature.
Q: Does this pickup require any permanent modification to my guitar?
A: No, the TEQ-5 is designed for non-invasive installation. It mounts securely in the soundhole using adjustable clamps, so no drilling or gluing is required.
Q: Is this compatible with classical guitars that have nylon strings?
A: Yes, as long as your classical guitar has a standard round soundhole, the TEQ-5 will fit. The piezo sensor works effectively with both steel and nylon strings.
Q: How do I activate the auto-sleep mode on the tuner display?
A: The auto-sleep mode is automatic. The display will turn off after 3 minutes of inactivity to save battery life. Plugging or unplugging the cable, or striking a string, will wake it up instantly.
Q: What happens if the battery dies during a performance?
A: The TEQ-5 features a passive bypass mode. If the battery dies, the signal will still pass through to your amplifier, though you will lose the active EQ and tuner functionality until the battery is replaced.
Q: Can the tuner be used while the guitar is plugged into an amplifier?
A: Yes, the built-in chromatic tuner functions independently. You can tune silently even while the cable is connected to your amp or PA system.
