Great potential for hand play pieces
Bought these specifically for making traditional hand-play gourds. The growth rate is impressive. One plant had a slightly damaged leaf on arrival, but it recovered quickly. Excited to see the final shapes.

Excellent packaging
Very impressed with how securely these were packed. Each seedling was individually protected. The 'Small Pinch' variety is exactly what I was looking for to train into unique shapes.

Authentic Eight Treasures shape
It can be hard to find true Eight Treasures genetics. These seedlings show the characteristic early growth patterns that suggest they will develop the classic multi-lobed shape desired for collecting.

Healthy and vigorous seedlings
I ordered the medium size Eight Treasures variety. The plants arrived in perfect condition with strong stems and vibrant green leaves. They took to my garden soil immediately after transplanting.

Good quality but slow shipping
The seedlings themselves are healthy and look promising. However, the shipping took longer than expected, and I was worried they might not survive the transit. They did, but please improve delivery speed.

Perfect for beginners
As someone new to growing Wenwan gourds, these seedlings were very forgiving. The instructions included were clear, and the plants are thriving in my balcony pots. Highly recommend for hobbyists.
Q: How soon after receiving the seedlings should I transplant them?
A: For best results, we recommend transplanting the seedlings within 24 to 48 hours of receipt. Ensure the outdoor temperature is consistently above 60°F (15°C) before moving them outside permanently.
Q: What is the expected size of the mature gourd?
A: The Medium and Large sizes typically reach between 4 to 8 inches in height depending on growing conditions and pruning. The 'Small Pinch' variety tends to stay on the smaller end, perfect for holding in one hand.
Q: Are these seeds or live plants?
A: This listing is for live seedlings that are already sprouted and ready for transplanting into larger pots or your garden. They are not dormant seeds.
Q: Do these gourds need a trellis or can they grow on the ground?
A: While they can grow on the ground, using a trellis is highly recommended for Wenwan gourds. This ensures better air circulation, reduces the risk of rot, and helps the gourds develop a more symmetrical shape ideal for hand play.
Q: How do I prepare the gourds for hand play after harvesting?
A: After harvesting, let the gourds dry naturally in a well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight for several months until they rattle when shaken. Once fully dried, you can clean, sand, and polish them for hand play.
