Great value for an exam instrument

Beautiful craftsmanship
The old fir wood gives this instrument a incredible depth of sound. The deer antler frost detailing is subtle but elegant. It took a few days to settle after shipping, but now it holds tune very well.

Lovely tone, minor setup needed
The guqin sounds wonderful once I adjusted the bridge positions slightly. The linked pearl shape is comfortable to play for long practice sessions. Highly recommend for intermediate players too.

Perfect for my first Guqin

Authentic Yangzhou quality
You can tell this is made by masters in Yangzhou. The raw lacquer process takes time, and you can feel the quality in the smooth surface. It produces a very traditional, ancient sound profile.
Q: Is the raw lacquer finish durable enough for daily practice?
A: Yes, pure raw lacquer is traditionally used for its durability and ability to improve with age. However, we recommend wiping it with a dry cloth after playing to remove oils.
Q: Are the strings pre-installed and tuned?
A: Yes, the guqin arrives with nylon-wrapped metal strings pre-installed. They are roughly tuned, but we recommend fine-tuning them upon arrival as temperature changes during shipping may affect pitch.
Q: Does this guqin come with a hard case or just a soft bag?
A: It comes with a high-quality padded soft bag designed specifically for the Linked Pearl style. A hard case can be purchased separately if needed for air travel.
