Essential for our printing line
These dyne pens are incredibly consistent. We use them daily to check corona treatment on our packaging films, and the results are always reliable. The 38 and 40 dyne levels are our most frequently used.

Accurate and durable

Good quality, fast drying
The liquid applies smoothly and dries quickly enough to give an immediate read on surface energy. I deducted one star only because the cap can be a bit tight sometimes, but the accuracy is spot on.

Q: Are these pens calibrated to international standards?
A: Yes, A.Shine dyne pens are manufactured to align with standard ASTM D2578 testing methods for surface wetting tension of polyethylene and polypropylene.
Q: Can these pens be used on metal surfaces?
A: While primarily designed for plastics and films, they can technically be used on coated metals. However, they are optimized for non-porous polymer surfaces where corona treatment is common.
Q: How do I interpret the results when using these pens?
A: If the applied liquid remains as a continuous film for at least 2 seconds, the surface tension is equal to or greater than the pen's rating. If it beads up immediately, the surface tension is lower.
Q: What is the shelf life once the bottle is opened?
A: Once opened, the solution should be used within 3 to 6 months depending on storage conditions. Always keep the cap tightly sealed and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
