Essential for our printing line
We use these pens daily to check the treat level of our polyethylene films before printing. The A.Shine brand is consistent with German standards, and the ink flow is reliable. Highly recommended for quality control.

Good value for money
Works exactly as expected for testing surface tension. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the cap can be a bit tight sometimes, but the accuracy of the test results makes up for it.

Perfect for adhesion testing
Before applying labels or coatings, we need to ensure the surface energy is high enough. These dyne pens make the process instant and easy. The 38 and 40 mN/m levels are our most used.

Q: How do I interpret the results when using the pen?
A: If the liquid bead remains intact for at least 2 seconds, the surface energy is equal to or higher than the pen's value. If it breaks up or beads up immediately, the surface energy is lower.
Q: Do you sell a kit with multiple dyne levels?
A: Currently, the pens are sold individually by specific mN/m value, allowing you to purchase only the specific tension levels required for your production line.
Q: What is the shelf life once the pen is opened?
A: While unopened pens last up to 12 months, we recommend using an opened pen within 3 to 6 months and ensuring the cap is tightly sealed after every use to maintain accuracy.
Q: Can I use this pen on metal surfaces?
A: Yes, these pens are suitable for testing various substrates including plastics, films, foils, and treated metal surfaces to verify cleanliness or treatment levels.
Q: Is the solution hazardous?
A: The solution contains formamide and other chemicals; please avoid skin contact and inhalation. Always refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) included with the product for detailed handling instructions.
