A: These pens are primarily designed for non-absorbent materials like plastics, films, and foils. While they can technically be used on smooth metals, they are optimized for polymer surface tension testing.
Q: What does it mean if the liquid beads up instead of spreading?
A: If the liquid beads up within two seconds, the surface tension of the material is lower than the value marked on the pen. You should try a pen with a lower mN/m rating to find the matching level.
Q: Can I refill these pens once the ink runs out?
A: No, arcotest Dyne Pens are designed as single-use disposable tools to ensure accuracy and prevent contamination of the test fluid. Refilling is not recommended and may void accuracy guarantees.
