Great value for learning robotics
Bought this for a university project. It handles 8 SG90 servos without any jitter. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the soldering points for the power header are a bit close together, requiring careful work.

Reliable and stable
I've tested several servo drivers, and this YwRobot board is very stable. The PWM signal is clean, resulting in smooth servo movement. Highly recommended for anyone building camera gimbals or robotic arms.

Good performance, runs slightly warm
The module performs well under load. When driving 16 high-torque servos simultaneously, the voltage regulator gets quite warm, but it hasn't failed yet. Just ensure you have some airflow in your enclosure.

Perfect for my hexapod robot
This driver module works flawlessly with my Arduino Mega. I am controlling 12 MG995 servos for a hexapod project, and the external power supply feature ensures the servos get enough current without resetting the microcontroller. The I2C library is easy to use.

Easy to set up
As someone new to electronics, I was worried about the wiring. However, the labels on the PCB are clear, and there are plenty of tutorials online for the PCA9685 chip this uses. Got it running in under 30 minutes.
Q: Can I power the Arduino from this servo driver board?
A: It is generally not recommended to power the Arduino directly from the servo driver's V+ line due to noise and voltage spikes from servos. Please power the Arduino separately or via USB, and connect only the Ground and I2C lines to the driver.
Q: Is the 16-channel version physically larger than the 8-channel one?
A: No, both versions share the same PCB footprint. The 16-channel capability is often determined by how the headers are populated or if two chips are onboard; please check the specific product images for header count.
Q: Do I need to install a specific library for Arduino?
A: You can use the widely available 'Adafruit PWM Servo Driver' library or generic PCA9685 libraries found in the Arduino Library Manager. They are fully compatible with this hardware.
Q: What is the maximum current this board can supply to the servos?
A: The board itself does not limit the current significantly; the limit depends on your external power supply and the gauge of wires used. We recommend a 2A to 3A power adapter for 8 high-torque servos.
