Great value for learning ARM
Excellent build quality and pinout labeling. The board is robust enough for student projects. Having the example codes ready to run saved me hours of setup time. Highly recommended for anyone starting with Cortex-M3.

Perfect upgrade from 8051
Moving from the traditional 51 microcontroller to this STM32 board was seamless. The Du Yang Studio tutorials are incredibly well-structured for beginners. The 100 steps guide covers everything from blinking an LED to using PWM.

Good board, documentation is key
The hardware works flawlessly. The real star here is the accompanying learning material. Without the '100 Steps' guide, the jump to STM32 might be steep, but with it, progress is fast. Only minor issue was the USB cable length.

Reliable for prototyping
I used this for a small robotics project involving motor control and sensors. The processing speed is significantly better than my old 51 boards. The community support around this specific board model is also very active.

Finally understood pointers!

Solid choice for university labs
Bought several of these for our introductory embedded systems course. Students find the transition easier compared to other boards. The price point allows us to equip the whole lab without breaking the budget.
Q: Does it support Arduino IDE?
A: Yes, you can program this board using the Arduino IDE by installing the appropriate STM32 core packages. However, for the full '100 Steps' curriculum, native HAL or register-level coding is encouraged.
Q: Can I power this board directly from a 9V battery?
A: Yes, the board features an onboard voltage regulator that accepts input voltages typically between 5V and 12V, so a 9V battery connected to the VIN pin works perfectly.
Q: Does this board come with a pre-installed bootloader?
A: Yes, the Yangtao No. 1 comes with a serial bootloader pre-flashed, allowing you to program it via UART without needing a separate ST-Link debugger initially.
Q: Is the tutorial available in English or only Chinese?
A: The primary documentation from Du Yang Studio is in Chinese, but the community has translated many of the core '100 Steps' examples into English. Code comments are often bilingual.
