Best budget FPGA board
As a university student, this was the most affordable option that still offered enough resources for my final year project. Quartus Prime recognizes it immediately.

Excellent starter kit component
Bought this to replace a damaged board in my lab. Setup took less than 10 minutes. The pinout diagram included in the manual is very accurate and helpful.

Solid core board for prototyping
Used this for a small industrial control prototype. The EP4CE10 chip handles my logic requirements well. Only wish it had more onboard LEDs for debugging, but expansion headers work fine.

Good performance, minimal frills
Does exactly what it says on the tin. It's a minimum system board, so don't expect extra peripherals, but the core functionality is rock solid. Fast shipping too.

Reliable and compact
The build quality is surprisingly good for the cost. Soldering points are clean, and the USB power delivery is stable. Highly recommend for embedded system learners.
Q: Is there a schematic available for download?
A: Yes, the full schematic and pin assignment files are available on the product support page under the 'Documents' tab.
Q: What is the maximum operating frequency stable on this board?
A: While the FPGA chip supports higher speeds, the onboard oscillator is 50MHz. For higher frequencies, you would need to input an external clock signal via the designated pins.
Q: Does the board come with a USB cable for programming?
A: The core board typically does not include a USB cable in the package. You will need a standard Mini-USB or Micro-USB cable depending on the specific revision connector.
Q: Is this board compatible with Quartus Prime Lite Edition?
A: Yes, this board featuring the EP4CE10E22C8N is fully supported by the free version of Intel (Altera) Quartus Prime Lite Edition.
Q: Can I connect external sensors directly to the GPIO pins?
A: Yes, the expansion headers expose the FPGA GPIOs. However, please ensure your external sensors operate at 3.3V logic levels to avoid damaging the FPGA.
