Solid Choice for Advanced Users
Not exactly a beginner board due to the industrial focus, but if you need rugged connectivity, this is it. The PSRAM is helpful for larger buffers when handling network traffic.

Great Hardware, Documentation Could Be Better
The board itself is excellent quality with solid terminal blocks. However, finding specific pin mappings for the isolated interfaces took some digging in the wiki. Once set up, it works flawlessly.

Robust and Reliable
I've been running this board in a temperature chamber for a week now. The ESP32-S3 handles the heat well, and the communication remains stable even at the extremes of its rated range.

Best Value for Isolated ESP32 Boards
Compared to buying separate isolation chips and designing a PCB, this board is a steal. The screw terminals are high quality and hold wires securely. Will buy more for our next production run.

Seamless WiFi and CAN Integration
Using this to bridge legacy CAN bus data to a cloud dashboard via WiFi. The dual-core processor handles both tasks without lag. The USB-C programming port is a nice modern touch.
Q: Can I power this board directly from a 24V industrial supply?
A: No, the input voltage range is 5V DC. You must use an external 24V-to-5V converter before connecting to this board's terminal block or USB port.
Q: Does this board support MicroPython out of the box?
A: Yes, the ESP32-S3 chip fully supports MicroPython. You will need to flash the firmware via the USB-C port, but no additional hardware is required.
Q: Are the CAN and RS485 interfaces isolated from each other?
A: Yes, both the CAN and RS485 interfaces are individually isolated from the main ESP32 logic ground to prevent ground loops and protect against voltage spikes.
Q: What is the maximum baud rate supported on the RS485 interface?
A: The hardware supports standard industrial baud rates up to 2 Mbps, though practical stability depends on cable length and environmental noise. 115200 to 921600 are most common.
Q: Does it come with a case or enclosure?
A: This package includes only the development board. However, the mounting hole pattern is standard, making it easy to fit into many generic project enclosures.
