Perfect for AIoT Projects
The dual-core performance and extra PSRAM make this board ideal for running small machine learning models locally. The pinout is clearly labeled, and it worked straight out of the box with the Arduino IDE.

Reliable for industrial prototyping

Upgrade from ESP32 was worth it
The native USB support simplifies debugging significantly compared to older boards. Bluetooth LE connectivity is stable, and the build quality feels very robust.

Great value, minor documentation gaps
Hardware quality is excellent and the Wi-Fi range is impressive. I deducted one star because the specific pin mapping for the RGB interface required some digging in the GitHub repo rather than the main wiki.

Good board, steep learning curve for beginners
This is a powerful board, but if you are new to ESP32, the sheer number of features can be overwhelming. Once I got the environment set up, it works beautifully.
Q: What is the maximum current draw for the 3.3V output pin?
A: The onboard regulator can typically supply up to 500mA total for the board and peripherals. However, we recommend drawing no more than 50mA from the 3.3V GPIO pin itself to ensure system stability.
Q: Does this come with a case or enclosure?
A: No, this package includes only the development board. Cases are sold separately. Please check our accessories section for compatible acrylic or 3D-printable case designs.
Q: Is the PSRAM usable with MicroPython?
A: Yes, the 8MB PSRAM is fully supported in MicroPython. You may need to enable it in your build configuration or use a pre-compiled firmware version that includes PSRAM support for optimal performance.
Q: Does this board support Power over Ethernet (PoE)?
A: No, this specific WROOM-1 model does not have an integrated Ethernet PHY or PoE support. It relies on Wi-Fi for networking. You would need an external Ethernet module if wired connection is required.
Q: Can I power this board directly via the GPIO pins?
